I think that what would really be beneficial is a page that describes exactly HOW to use batch numbers. I only recently figured this out on my own after over about a year and a half of really playing around with this hobby and I consider myself a pretty fast, intuitive learner. I think that it would be beneficial to have a pdf page that could be downloaded and archived on various genealogy sites and forums. This way more people would fully understand how to maximize/optimize their research. Perhaps this site should also have a page devoted to this information also. What do you guys think? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

OFRAME,
I agree that there is a need for more "How to Directions" on this site not only for how to use the IGI batch numbers on the familyseach.org site but just to use this site more effectively This site has great potential for helping us all and sharing information. I have noticed that many like me have joined (Oct. 2007) and not posted a message or reply nor contributed to their own profile.

Unlike many top contributors, I am very low "tech" and find it difficult to make my way without "Direction for Dummies" sort of step by step directions. For example the weekly digest tells me to check my messages, I click and it takes me to a main page and no other prompts. I have not been able to view my profile or get to a place to post a message until today and it happened by accident and so I'm hoping the site can create a resource for those like me that have very low tech. skills.

I was wondering how you do use your IGI batch numbers. I found that there is more that one was to use it to get a larger hit. your may e-mail me directly since I may never find this again. pottum@hughes.net.
